Kookaburra Ltd was founded by Managing Director Geoff Herbert in 1988. Geoff trained in Agriculture and Agricultural Economics in the UK before heading off to Australia to work for the demanding export of beef and sheep meat industry. 14 years later, and armed with a wealth of food industry experience, Geoff came back to the UK. He felt that the UK food industry at that time could learn from the high quality standards in food production, which were commonplace in Australia, and set about creating Kookaburra Ltd which holds true to the same values today. The Kookburra name ensures that these Australian beginnings are not forgotten.

Picture of Geoff Herbert, M.D of Kookaburra Geoff is a founding partner in the Kookaburra organisation. It was his vision to introduce the high industry standards to Kookaburra, which he experienced whilst working in the demanding export of beef and sheep meat industry in Australia for 14 years.

Geoff brings with him a wealth of experience as well as his degree in Agriculture and Agricultural Economics.

With his experiences in Australia in mind he established Kookaburra in 1988 and has since built the business into a market leader, still firmly based on the principles of quality and customer service.

It is due to his skills and diverse experience that Kookaburra has pioneered premium cooked poutry products in the UK.

Geoff set up Kookaburra Ltd with a view to providing excellent quality and service in poultry processing, selling to food manufacturers and retailers alike. Our premium poultry products can be found in pies, pasties, soups, pizza toppings, ready meals, sandwiches and salads, to name just a few.

The company has grown organically since its inception and now boasts a healthy turnover, an excellent reputation and several customers who have been with the company since day one. Kookaburra continues to expand and develop its services, with recent investments of over £250,000 on cooking and processing equipment, which will help to ensure that Kookaburra remains at the forefront of the industry in terms of customer service and production facilities.

Kookaburra also boasts a unique cooking process unrivaled in the industry. In a constant effort to improve the Kookaburra product we developed whole bird cooking which requires a special cooking process – this produces meat which is much more succulent and flavoursome than other rival products, and is as close to home cooked as possible. Just one of the premium products offered by Kookaburra.

Kookaburra’s core philosophy is quality and we therefore invest heavily in research and development as well as in our dedicated and highly experienced team of experts, who help to make Kookaburra’s products and service among the best in the industry.
